Yorkshire Light Windows
Construction
Traditionally constructed using mortice and tennon joints and period moulds with sashes sliding on oak runners with solid brass sash rollers.
Timber
European redwood, sapele, clear Douglas fir or European oak.
Preservative Treatment
Double vacuum pressure impregnation using Protim 418 preservative to BS 5589.
Ironmongery
Solid brass locking fitch fasteners, solid brass sash rollers.
Glazing
Factory glazed with Planitherm Total Low E double glazed units. Factory glazed
with 4mm float glass externally putty pointed for listed buildings and conservation areas. Heritage glass available upon request.
Decorative Finish
One coat of white water based microporus primer or a base coat stain.
Moulding Detail
Traditional staff bead mould to frame with 20mm ovolo to glazing bars
and sash frame. Other sash moulds are available on request.
Glazing Bars
Windows that require glazing bar to be divided into small (Georgian) panes
we use our conservation type glazing bar system.
Weatherseals
Brush type weatherseals to the perimeter of sashes.
